Frequently Asked Question

Below are some frequently asked questions about our wheel cleaning systems and other general information. If you can't find the answer here please feel free to contact us

1. How is the unit delivered?

The unit is delivered on the back of a flat bed wagon, which is fitted with a hiab for unloading. The wagon stops next to the sitting area and places the unit into position using its own lifting arm. This takes approximately half an hour.

2. Where do we site the unit?

The unit can be sited without interfering with ongoing or completed works. (it simply elevates the road) It can be placed centrally on the road so that all vehicles enter and exit the site through the unit or, should you wish, it can be sited to one side of the road. This process can be completed in one hour. Also the unit can be easily moved by on site plant, e.g. Hymac, up the site as work progresses, keeping the completed areas clean.

3. How does the unit work?

The unit cleans the mud from tyres using a rumble strip system. This flexes the tyres tread open and closed over 160 times and loosens the mud on the tyres then vibrates it off to below the unit onto the road. Check out our dry wheel cleaning page for more details.

4. How do I clean the unit?

The unit is cleaned by simply lifting the angle grid system, which is in sections, this can be done using machines on site e.g. Hymac, JCB, (the unit is provided with lifting eyes) and scraping the mud from the road.

5. What size is the unit?

The unit dimensions are 3.2m wide x 20m long x 280mm high. The unit does not take up any room on the road, it just elevates it.

6. How will the unit fit on site?

In ideal circumstances the unit sits on a straight section of the site road. But as all site situations are not ideal the unit can be sited on any part of the road with the minimum of inconvenience.
